SCI Membership
There are two divisions of SCI Membership, “International” and “Chapter”. Prospective members must first hold membership in the International SCI organization before they are members of a local chapter. Membership at either level can be acquired for as short as one year or as long as you live. Listed below are the types of memberships, costs, and their corresponding entitlements.
SCI International Membership
LIFE MEMBERSHIP:
- Regular Life Membership USA, Canada, Mexico $1,500(US); All other countries $2000(US)
- Senior Life Membership, 60 years and over USA, Canada, Mexico $1,250(US); All other countries $1,750(US)
Benefits:
- Free subscription to SCI’s bi-monthly SAFARI magazine and monthly Safari Times newspaper, SCI Record Book eligibility, and Annual Hunters’ Convention invitation (entrance fees still apply).
- Ability to run for office within the SCI organization.
- Gold embossed Life Member Card and printed Life Member Certificate, gold Life Member pin in a velvet satchel, gold SCI logo stickers, and gold member card.
- Membership renewal from year-to-year is automated.
- Ability to join as many local, national and international chapters as desired (local chapter dues may still apply, but no handling fee involved).
- Ability to attend the annual SCI National Convention.
- Eligibility to attend the Life Member Breakfast at the SCI National Convention (additional fee may apply).
- Spousal Life Membership at a discounted $750 (no publications included)
REGULAR MEMBERSHIP:
One Year Membership USA, Canada, Mexico $55(US); all other Countries $80(US)
Free subscription to SCI’s bi-monthly SAFARI magazine and monthly Safari Times newspaper, SCI Record Book eligibility, and Annual Hunters’ Convention invitation (entrance fees still apply).
Ability to run for office within the SCI organization.
National member certificate, red and white member card and logo stickers.
Ability to join local, national, and international chapters (If more than one chapter is joined, a $5.00 handling fee is applied).
Ability to attend the annual SCI National Convention.
Three Year Membership USA, Canada, Mexico $150(US); all other Countries $225(US)
- Benefits:
- Same benefits as a One Year Member.
- Member saves $15 on the Three Year Membership versus renewing each year with the One Year membership.
- Renewals are automated for three years.
SCI Detroit Chapter Membership
(must have International Membership)
LIFE MEMBERSHIP:
- Life Membership, USA, Canada, Mexico $750(US); All other countries call for pricing.
Benefits:
- Custom hardware plaque for display
- Quarterly subscription of the Detroit Chapter’s magazine ‘Trajectory’.
- Receive information of Local Conservation issues and Chapter events.
- Eligibility to enter into the Detroit Chapter Record Book.
- SCI logo hat.
- Ability to run for Chapter Office.
REGULAR MEMBERSHIP:
- One Year Membership $45(US) All other countries call for pricing.
Benefits:
- Quarterly subscription of the Detroit Chapter’s magazine ‘Trajectory’.
- Receive information of Local & State Conservation issues and Chapter events.
- Eligibility to enter into the Detroit Chapter Record Book.
- SCI Logo hat.
- Ability to run for Chapter Office.
- Three Year Membership USA, Canada, Mexico $115; All other countries call for pricing.
Benefits:
- Same benefits as a One Year Member.
- Member saves almost 15% on the Three Year Membership versus renewing each year with the One Year membership.
- Renewals are automated for three years.
- Youth Membership
- Second Chapter Yearly Membership USA, Canada, Mexico $25; All other countries call for pricing.
Benefits:
- Same benefits as a One Year Member, with the privilege of belonging to multiple chapters.
SCI International Sables Membership
LIFE MEMBERSHIP:
- Life Membership, $500(US) (If you currently have a SCI Life Membership, then Sables Life Membership is only $250(US)
REGULAR MEMBERSHIP:
- One Year Membership, $30(US)
- Three Year Membership, $75(US)
Detroit Chapter Sables Membership
Currently there is no additional fee to be a Detroit Chapter Sables member. On the International Sables application you designate "Detroit Chapter" as your affiliation.
